We are so excited to share that it has been a busy spring for CBI learners, and we still have many exciting things to come!
On March 8 we held our second sibling panel where siblings, parents and staff had the opportunity to talk to a panel of siblings about their various experiences. We are so thankful to all of our participants. We introduced Sibling Socials at that time and on April 11 we had the opportunity to host one for the first time! We had a great time connecting siblings and enjoying pizza, movies, video games and foosball! Please watch for our next Sibling Social this summer!
We continue to expand our leisure repertoire offered within CBI. Focused leisure for spring options entail cooking, board games, book club, hiking, biking and bowling. This summer we are adding an introduction to various sports and yoga! Weekend art camps also continue to be a great success as Debbie Green, our cooking and art camp lead, continues to come up with such creative and beautiful activities. For extended leisure opportunities this spring, we are celebrating Earth Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Extended leisure activities are a great way for learners to try new things and remain active on the weekends with staff support.
The fun-filled Spring Run Club has wrapped up. Runners spent three weeks building endurance and learning about race day norms before participating in the CAN DO 5k and the All in for Autism races with staff. We’re really proud of their dedication and hard work to finish both events.
The “A Day in the Life” half- and full-day programs continue to have our highest enrollment. We enjoy the comprehensiveness of the program and getting to focus with our learners on many aspects of independent living throughout their day.
We are now enrolling for an exciting summer. Please ensure all registration forms are completed and turned in by June 1.
Thank you so much for your continued support! It continues to be an amazing experience to get to see all of the students becoming more independent in their homes and in the community.
We are excited for the opportunity to continue building a strong comprehensive program to teach our learners how to successfully access their community!
