Job Fair, Holiday Activities Highlight Community-Based Instruction Fall Quarter

Holiday-themed opportunities and an inaugural job fair highlighted one of NBA’s most productive quarters for the Community-Based Instruction (CBI) Program. CBI enrollment numbers continue to grow, and staff members are excited to continue their work with so many NBA learners, families and teams during Winter Quarter.

The holidays gave learners and staff the opportunity to share traditions; help plan parties, meals and gifts for family and friends; learn to consider others’ preferences; and stay on a time schedule and budget. Holiday sibling socials included an ugly sweater party and white-elephant gift exchange.

CBI’s first job fair this fall at NBA allowed community members to discuss their careers and meet NBA learners. Meanwhile, NBA students were able to gain experience with holding an event and obtain insight into many career paths. CBI staff was honored to work with so many great learners and community members who made the event happen. NBA hopes to make the job fair an annual event.

Winter Quarter programs are in progress. Enrollment is now open for the Spring CBI quarter.  The deadline to register is March 3, 2019.

As always, thank you for your continued support. Seeing our students blossoming into more independent individuals is rewarding to all of us. We are excited to continue building a strong comprehensive program to teach our learners how to successfully access their community.

Thank you so much!
