Happy New Year Families and Friends! I hope that everyone enjoyed a peaceful and joyful holiday season. Program expansion continued in 2016, to include additional Community-Based Intervention (CBI) Program offerings, Parent Training opportunities, and the half and full day official introduction of “A Day in the Life” programs, as part of CBI, since their piloting over the summer of 2016 went so well. We have also expanded our Small Group Intervention Program to include puberty groups. NBA’s Calendar of Events is filling up quickly with new outings and activities for our friends, families and supporters- be sure to check out our events posted on our social media pages for additional information, as well as our monthly slide presentation in the waiting room, and our bulletin board.
NBA’s quality services, training and ongoing supervision, also continue to make a difference in the lives of clients of the Potomac Center in West Virginia, under the diligent care of Counseling Supervisor, Wendy Knowles who serves as the Behavior Specialist to this residential placement center for children with intellectual/developmental disabilities and severe behavioral issues. The Star Project, NBA’s affiliate program in Amman, Jordan, continues to flourish, providing much needed behavior analytic services, training and support in the Middle East, thanks to the continued dedication of our Director, Dr. Stacey Shook.
Our Art for Autism ‘Glitz, Glamour and Gatsby’ auction, which took place at the Downtown Seattle Sheraton on October 1st 2016, was a great success! This event would not have been possible without the abounding generosity of our wonderful Sponsors and Donors, and the participation of staff, student and friend volunteers. Thanks to you, we were able to raise: $103000, allowing us to offer scholarships, make program enhancements, and purchase much needed curriculum.
January 2017 is off to a terrific start! NBA is proud to announce that Allegro Pediatrics, a leading children’s medical care organization on the Eastside, whose mission is to ‘partner with families to heal, nurture, and empower each child in their journey to adulthood’, is sponsoring NBA for 2017. Indeed, Allegro Pediatrics is our very first ‘Blue Explorer Sponsor’, meaning that they have committed $2500 to helping NBA fund future growth, which includes: offering scholarships to learners in need, maintaining credentialing for staff and agency, maximizing accessibility to support our learners, as well as expansion of our quality services. Thank you Allegro Pediatrics for your abounding generosity and support!
Hoping everyone enjoys the New Year ahead, and as always, thank you to all of the families, friends, and supporters of NBA, for your continued dedication to our company and cause!
Thanks so much,
Alex. Chehab, Development Coordinator
