NBA News from our Development Coordinator- Alex Chehab

Another school year is upon us! We would like to wish everyone a great start to it! Program expansion continues in the 2017 year-end. Our Small Group Intervention Program saw the departure of Tali Schock, whom we wish to thank for her invaluable contributions, and the arrival of Morgan Tompkins to the role. Together, Morgan, Small Group Intervention Assistant Program Coordinator, and Yoko Phillips, Small Group Intervention Program Coordinator, will continue to innovate our social groups, including new puberty groups! Our Community-Based Instruction Program continues to grow, offering half and full day “A Day in the Life” programs.

NBA had its very first Chipotle ‘Cause and Effect’ FUNdraiser, and was able to raise over $1000 to support our mission and cause! Our Calendar of Events through the end of the year has some fun soirees, including a wine, appetizer, jewelry and glassybaby™ FUNdraiser night on October 10th here at NBA, and NBA socials at Brewmaster’s in Renton on November 2nd, and Reuben’s Brews on December 14th. These events are fun ways to meet other NBA friends, families and supporters- be sure to check out our events posted on our social media pages for additional information, as well as our monthly slide presentation in the waiting room, and our bulletin board.

NBA’s quality services, training and ongoing supervision, provided under the diligent care of Counseling Supervisor, Wendy Knowles, at the Potomac Center in WV, has come to an end, due to very exciting news- please read the full article for additional details in this edition’s newsletter. We wish to thank her for her commitment, as, without her, the Potomac Center would not be where it is today. The Star Project, NBA’s affiliate program in Amman, Jordan, continues to flourish, providing much needed behavior analytic services, training and support in the Middle East, thanks to the continued dedication of our Director, Dr. Stacey Shook, who is headed for another trip there on September 12th.

The planning for our Art for Autism auction, which will take place at the Four Seasons in Downtown Seattle October 6th 2018, is well underway! Should you be interested in sponsoring, donating, or becoming an active member of our committee, please do not hesitate to contact Alex Chehab, Development Coordinator, at: achehab@nba-autism.com. Thank you to AG Consulting Partners, and Motivity, for becoming our first Silver Sponsors for this event!

Thanks so much,
