Small Group Intervention Program Update

Our school-year social groups are off to a great start!  It was great to see the students’ huge smiles and excitement when they came back to groups after winter break.  I’m pretty sure they missed the groups.

Our groups had a lot of fun with Halloween and other holiday related activities.  While having fun, we learn how to cooperate with others, make plan for a project or a party, and be respectful and good friend to each other.  For 2018, we are off to new and more exciting cooperation activities such as presentation project, a science experiment, and even hanging out in a community!

We are also pleased to announce the continued success on our “Let’s Talk Puberty!” group.  We are excited to have some older learners participate in this winter quarter.  They will be learning important information about life in a safe and comfortable setting with their friends.

The close communication between each child’s Program Manager and the Social Group Coordinator has been key to the success of NBA Social Groups.  We continue to work very closely together and frequently exchange the child’s current goals, progress, and challenges.  NBA Social Groups are a great place for students to practice generalization of their skills with peers, while making new friends.
