NBA is proud to announce that Nicole Hoffman, known to the team as Nikki, an NBA tutor for us since June 2011, has been promoted to Program Manager. While we are saddened to have seen Melissa Niemi depart our team at the end of March 2015, we are delighted to have Nikki start this position.
Nikki has been working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) since 2008, while earning her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from Central Washington University (CWU). Her applied experiences during her BA, including her work at NBA to satisfy her internship requirements, lead her to pursue a career in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). After she completed her degree, she immediately began the Master’s program in Experimental Psychology with a Specialization in ABA at CWU. Nikki states: “I am working toward my BCBA and I hope to have passed the big exam before the next year!”
Working for NBA, Nikki has gained invaluable experience providing services to families using one-on-one intervention, small group intervention, and school-based intervention strategies. Nikki shares the following as she continues in her new role: “I am looking forward to working with tutors (new role for me as I have always been the tutor!), and am also excited to be managing and developing programs for all of my clients. Being that I am still new and getting to know my clients and their families, I am most looking forward to building relationships… and gaining additional knowledge and leadership skills, through my new experiences as a PM, that I see in my co-workers every day at NBA.”
In her spare time, Nikki can be seen enjoying her time with family and friends, hiking, camping, traveling, bowling, going to the movies, finding a good TV series to watch, and more than anything, spending time with my husband, Justin, and our two dogs, Chevy and Reese!
